EDUCATION
I believe parents and educators should have a stronger voice in shaping how our children are educated. As your State Representative for District 43, I have worked to remove barriers that placed too much emphasis on the system instead of the classroom—where learning happens every day. Every child deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their ZIP code.
That is why I fought for and passed a new student-centered education funding formula that invests in students rather than simply funding systems. This approach directs more resources into our classrooms, where they can have the greatest impact on student success. The input of parents, teachers, administrators, and education leaders was invaluable in shaping a stronger, more effective funding model that will better serve Mississippi’s students for years to come.
I proudly fought for and passed a historic teacher pay raise that is now law, helping Mississippi become more competitive in attracting and retaining the outstanding educators our students deserve. Investing in our teachers is an investment in our children’s future. While this was an important milestone, there is still more work to do. I will continue fighting for commonsense, results-driven solutions that strengthen our schools, support our educators, and ensure every child has the opportunity to receive a quality education and succeed.
2ND ADMENDMENT
I strongly believe that law-abiding citizens have a constitutional right to protect themselves, their families, and their property. As your State Representative, I have consistently defended and supported our Second Amendment rights.
I proudly supported legislation establishing a sales tax exemption on firearms during what is now known as Second Amendment Weekend, held annually on the first Friday through Sunday of September. This initiative helps make it more affordable for responsible, law-abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional rights.
I also supported legislation that reduced unnecessary regulations and made it more affordable for law-abiding Mississippians to exercise their Second Amendment rights. These reforms lowered the cost of firearm permits and renewals, exempted disabled veterans and active-duty military personnel from permit fees, authorized permitless concealed carry for firearms carried in purses, bags, or other fully enclosed cases, and exempted military members and veterans from enhanced concealed carry training requirements if they had already completed qualifying military handgun combat training.
In addition to protecting our Second Amendment rights, I have been a strong advocate for Mississippi’s hunting and fishing traditions. I will continue to support policies that protect our outdoor heritage and preserve these freedoms for future generations.
JOBS / ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Because District 43 is home to Mississippi State University, a land-grant university, we have a unique opportunity to be a leader in economic growth and innovation. As your State Representative, I have worked to remove unnecessary regulations that hinder job creation, attract new investment, and help existing businesses grow and succeed.
I believe hardworking Mississippians deserve to keep more of the money they earn. That is why I proudly supported the largest tax cut in Mississippi history. Building on earlier legislation that reduced Mississippi’s income tax to a flat 4%, I voted to put our state on a responsible path toward eventually eliminating the individual income tax altogether. I believe we should reward hard work—not tax it—and continue creating an environment that attracts jobs, investment, and economic opportunity.
I also believe Mississippi’s grocery tax has placed an unnecessary burden on working families. That is why I supported legislation to reduce the grocery sales tax, helping make everyday necessities more affordable while allowing families to keep more of their hard-earned money.
PRO-FAMILY
As a father of four, I know that family is life’s greatest blessing. I believe every child, including the unborn, is created with inherent value and deserves protection.
As your State Representative, I proudly supported the Gestational Age Act, which prohibited most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, reflecting Mississippi’s commitment to protecting unborn life.
I also supported legislation to protect fairness in women’s and girls’ athletics by ensuring that biological males do not compete in female sports. I proudly supported the Mississippi Fairness Act, which requires public schools and colleges to designate athletic teams based on biological sex, helping preserve fairness, safety, and equal opportunities for female athletes.
Supporting our first responders has also been one of my priorities. I supported legislation increasing the line-of-duty death benefit for firefighters, law enforcement officers, and other emergency personnel from $65,000 to $100,000. While no amount of money can replace a loved one, this increase provides meaningful financial support to the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our communities.
MY PROMISE TO YOU
As your State Representative for District 43, I believe my most important responsibility is to be your representative—to listen to your concerns, carry your voice to the State Capitol, and fight for legislation that reflects the values and priorities of the people I serve.
Whether the issue is education, economic growth, job creation, supporting families, protecting our Second Amendment rights, reducing government spending, cutting taxes, or any other matter important to you, I promise to remain accessible, accountable, and committed to serving the citizens of District 43.
I will continue to work hard every day to protect our conservative values, strengthen our communities, and ensure that District 43 remains a great place to live, work, raise a family, and build a future. My door will always be open, and I will never stop fighting for you.
